Tubular Inspection Services
Drill String & BHA Inspection
RFC provides inspection services for drilling tubulars and Bottom Hole Assembly (BHA) components, helping clients identify defects, assess equipment condition, and reduce the risk of downhole failures and unplanned downtime.
Equipment We Inspect
Our Inspection Services
Visual & Dimensional Inspection
Examination of accessible surfaces and measurement of relevant dimensions to identify wear, corrosion, mechanical damage, and dimensional variations.
Connection & Thread Inspection
Inspection of threads, shoulders, and connections for damage, wear, corrosion, and other conditions that may affect connection integrity.
Electromagnetic Inspection (EMI)
Examination of applicable drill pipe bodies to detect indications of defects and wall loss.
Ultrasonic Testing & Thickness Measurement
Ultrasonic examination and wall thickness measurement of applicable tubular sections and components.
Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI)
Detection of surface and near-surface discontinuities in applicable ferromagnetic components, including tool joints, connections, and critical areas.
Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT)
Detection of surface-breaking discontinuities in suitable non-porous components where required.
The inspection methods, coverage, and acceptance criteria are selected according to the equipment type, agreed inspection scope, and applicable client, OEM, API, or DS-1 requirements.
Inspection Reports & Deliverables
Depending on the agreed scope, documentation includes:
-
Tubular inspection report
-
Equipment identification and traceability records
-
Dimensional and wall thickness results
-
NDT findings and photographs, where applicable
-
Acceptance or rejection status against the specified criteria
-
Recommendations for further assessment or corrective action
